Studio Photography
Join us for a studio photography event photographing parrots on a naturalistic backdrop.
All studio equipment will be supplied and set up prior to your arrival.
No need to share! Each photographer will be given a 30 minute time slot to take as many photos of as many of our models as they want!
The Details
The studio is an in-home studio. We house parrots, ducks, rats, and canines at our facility; please keep that in mind for your comfort and any potential allergies. The studio will all be set up with the back drop, tree staging prop, and the birds will be handled by a professional.
You can use any of the listed parrot models below for your session. Just note that the more birds you choose, the less time you will have to take photos. This is due to the handlers having to swap out parrots for you; your time slot continues during this time. We recommend you choose two of our models with a third backup.
Strobes will be provided, as well as a cord hookup for you to utilize. Some cameras do not come with the jack, so you may need to bring your own horse shoe. Please contact us if you have any equipment questions.
Our models have the final say. At the end of the day, we cannot promise all of our animal models will want to participate in the photoshoot the day of. All of our animals have the choice to participate in interactions and the sessions. We cannot guarantee that a bird will want to come out and sit for your session. All of our models have vast experience in a studio set up, but that does not guarantee their desire to participate

Before You Sign Up
Environmental Safety
Avian Flu is in our county. Since we have so many avians in our care, we ask for people to wear show covers (will be provided) or take off your shoes when you enter our facility.
We Take Your Safety Very Seriously
Parrots are wild, up domesticated animals. Our animals come from various backgrounds, and some are wild caught legally before the 1992 law. These are all wild animals. All parrots can fly, and they can bite. They are unpredictable, even the most trained. In order to keep everyone safe and comfortable, please listen to the handler and remain behind safety lines.
We Are Happy to Say “NO”
Our animals are not props. These are living animals with high intelligence and cognitive skills. We provide them amble choice and agency in their environment. We do not want our birds stressed during this event. We will decline your ability to photograph specific animals in general or at specific times.
You May Need to Leave
If you are acting inappropriately, dangerously around the animals, not listening to handlers, and other obnoxious behaviors, your session will end, and you will be asked to leave the property. If you are asked to leave early, you will not be refunded. We are all adults; just act like it and be respectful.
Age Requirement
This event is open to photographers of all skills and ages. Handlers have photography degrees, published, and award winning. We ask that you do not bring your children for safety reasons, and photographers should be 10 years old and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Refunds
You can cancel and get a full refund up to 72 hours before the shoot date. After 72 hours, you can recieved partial refund. If you cancel the day of or do not show, you will not be refunded. If you are asked to leave the property due to poor behavior, you will not be refunded
Strobe Set Up
Background Options
We have a set perching option that will not change. We can change the backdrop color. The background colors we have include black, light blue, pink, yellow, and white.
Contracts
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival. You also have a choice to sign a release form for us to take photos of you for marketing Matias for social media, our website, and to promote this even again in the future.
Your Time is Set
Your time slot is set. If you arrive late, your time slot will not change. Changing backdrops, switching out birds, changing lenses, etc. will not pause or change your time slot. Please be on time ready to start taking photos!
